Sound and music can affect our mood.  The sound of a well tuned Bagpipe, rich with harmonics and well played can stir the emotions.  Bagpipe music is so haunting….and yet so beautiful; it can bring tears to your eyes. The love and appreciation of the bagpipe is often linked to a person’s heritage. People whose lineage can be traced back to Scotland, Ireland, England or Wales have a deep connection to the Bagpipes. There is no middle ground…you either love the sound or you don't.

The Bagpipes are not easy to master. They are not even easy to hold. Three long pipes (drones) rest across the piper's left shoulder. The bag is clasped under the left arm and the lips are around a blowpipe. All while the fingers are controlling the melody with the chanter. People are always coming up to me and saying, 'How does that thing work?' "

When playing indoors, I play the Scottish Smallpipes: a smaller version of the Great Pipes which are perfect for interior playing, having a softer tone and reduced volume. I can play Smallpipes in a room full of people carrying on conversations—greatly appreciated on solemn occasions such as funerals or wakes.

Special Request Bagpipe Music

Do you have a special request surprise for my Bagpipe music? A unique service I offer is the "Happy Birthday Surprise." I will arrive at a specific time in full Highland regalia and play birthday greetings for a special someone. I have also been asked to serenade a special someone to help the suitor get attention and I've given a couple a proper send off at the airport for their once in a lifetime Scottish and Irish adventure.
